Looking for tire advice for Yamaha FZ6

I am looking for some advice on tires for a buddy's FZ6. He is a fairly new rider and is not very aggressive. Basically looking for a tire that wears well and has pretty good performance for the price. Bonus points if it helps me not kill him when I lure him onto a dirt road on one of rides.

He uses his bike for commuting and is starting to do some touring.

I know there is info to be found if I drill down in the Road Warrior forum, but I figured you guys would be a good place to start and I could avoid getting unrealistic answers from a bunch of squids.

I use the Michelin PR2's on my FJR with good results. Seem sticky enough in the canyons and wear well commuting. I usually get 8-12,000 miles out of a set depending on how much time I spend in the canyons vs commuting. The FZ6 is substantially lighter so I would imagine they would have a longer life on it. They seem pretty good in the wet and will handle a dry dirt/gravel road as good as any street tire.

I would recommend the Michelin Pilot road 2 or Pirelli Angels. Good grip, long lasting, and also good in the wet. I ran the PR2 on my FZ6 and have the older Michelin Road on my R1150RT. I have been very happy with them.

I'm running PR2s on my FZ. Good tire and reasonably priced. I think I paid around $280 shipped for the set. I have about 1500 miles on them and have been happy.
