Carb inssue continue

HI
I try most of the settings of my Flatside XR only carb and bike is running strange.

1) When cold, i can start it
2) when ride, i have smooth throtlle respond but bike is running like in a half of power, is a feeling like something is keeping it to not come in full power, not enought fuel? not enough air? I do not know as im LAM on that:(
I can only describe the feeling...
3) Bike is going very fast very hot. Is a big bore 628 HRC with compresion 11:1 but after 20 min of riding temp of oil has achived 120 C degrees, outside is 14C:(
4) After i put oil cooler i can keep it like 100-110 but i think is still too much provide that oil cooler is there...

6) When i stop i need to screw IDLE screw in to be able to start, but i need to do it like 2-3 full rounds, otherwise it will not start.
7) But when it starts IDLLE is too high and i need to come back to the pervious possition.

PLEASE HELP, what is going on:(???

I think to buy FCR 41 carb but it cost a ot of money and would like to ask u if it will help me?:)

Best regards
MARTIN

martin man

I feel sorry for you but you never answer the questions that really need answering

you need to KNOW

what JETS you have and what the plug looks like when you are experiencing the stuff you say like:

half power
smooth but low on power

and the no start issue

sorry but its really hard to help when you never answer these things...

you need to do plug chops

100c with oil cooler is about perfect...nothing worng there, oil MUST BE at boiling water temp or else you never rid of the humidity in the oil after shutdown and that is bad

my riding temps with the mikuni is about 120c all the time...or about 250f and it takes about 15 minutes of riding to get to that temp, maybe a bit more...

hey martin here to help!

240 main is good, I use a 230

xrsonly uses a 6fj41 needle..use either middle clip or second from bottom( 1 richer) it sounds to me like you are lean because you say you have half power

what is your elevation?

if you need to turn in your idle screw ALL the way in like 3 turns it likely means you are rich

however I know xronly comes with a 12.5 pilot, so that is weird...

you MUST take carb off and see what it comes with..

I like a 15 pilot or 17.5

the 20 pilot I had originally was great for power but had the SAME symptoms you had...the only diff is I ride up to 6000 feet or about 2500m, and I like the 15 better...

I use 2 turns out on the fuel air screw

you MUST not adjust while riding, you have to first get the correct pilot jet then fine tune with fuel scew for different temps and elevations

I like to jet for HOT starts meaning whatever is easier to start when hot and riding...I dont need to start first kick cold, as this usually means using a bigger and richer pilot jet which causes your symptoms

BUT SINCE WE DONT KNOW WHAT PILOT jet you have we dont fully know

plug chops means this

ride at a specifif rpm for at least 30 seconds to a minute without changing RPM

press killswitch and pull clutch at same time

ride to a stop without letting go of clutch lever use break if you want to

then unscrew sparkplug and look at color

3 runs at this same speed will give you a really good read however that takes a lot of time and effort

good luck man

I love myt tm38 flatslide! so you can too
