Australian dies at Borneo motocross rally
See news article from Yahoo this morning.
Does anyone know anything about the event, or person involved (Michael Headley)? Obviously not good.

Yes, I saw the article. Don't know anything about the event, but I stumbled across something similar in Sumatra last year... spotted chook chasers in a ute, got talking to the owners at a servo and ended up riding about a third of the event on my Super Enduro. At a guess there were about 500 participants... and they were all from the very upper end of the local income scale.

We really do not need to be starting threads like this unless it is a member of the ADV community.
We need to bear in mind that these threads are searchable, and are often read by the families of the victims who are searching for answers about their loved ones.
Most of these threads end up with a lot of opinions and chest beating with very few facts other than what is reported in the media anyway, which is not always 100% accurate.
We will be closing these threads in future out of respect to the families and if it turns out to be one of us we will then consider reopening the thread.
I know some of you may disagree but each time one of these starts the mod team get a pile of PM's, many adv members don't like it.
There is the faceplant forum on ADV but make sure you read the rules carefully if you decide to start a thread in there.
We all know that what brings us together here has inherent dangers so no need for the unpleasant stories.
