Looks like I might have to push the trip back until the first week in April.
Is that still a good time? Are crowds likely to be bad? Will daytime temps be into the 80s by then?

It won't be unusual to see temps in the 90's by April down there. I've done it, and it's not that bad...just not my favorite time. The big plus, depending on rains, could be awesome wildflower and cactus blooming.
