Those got their name from the track itself due to noise restrictions there back in the day and are known as Brooklands silencers. The track itself is almost entirely gone but there is an excellent museum with aircraft, race cars, motorcycles, etc...located in the London suburbs

Freshly Minted....

I love to see what friends have been up to over the winter months, fettling away in the garage, sweating, cursing, spilling blood, just so they can ride something new or old for the coming summer.
Well today was one of those days, I took some pictures a while back of this Manx/Inter engine on the bench..



There it was all in bits, being worked on, and now here it is all complete, and on the road, and it sounds awesome. Sure it has a few small leaks, the odd screw loose or missing, but these shake down runs will sort all those little niggles out. And who wouldn't like this in the garage.

the observant amongst you will notice a complete lack of lighting, on a road legal machine this is fine, as we have a daytime only law that allows you to ride a bike in daylight without lights, as long as there are none fitted
