Lets Ride Trumbull Peak near Yosemite Sunday November 10th

I am leading a group ride Sunday November 10th. The plan is to ride from Modesto up to Coulterville before heading thru Anderson Valley and up to Trumbull peak for views of Half Dome and a bag lunch.

This ride is super scenic and fun. I would say that it is an intermediate ride for Big Bikes. Beginners on smaller bikes shouldn't have any trouble.

Ride starts at Cycle Specialties BMW at 9:00AM on Sunday Nov 10th. We will also meet in Coulterville under "The Tree" at 10:30AM.

Hope to see you soon!
-Gail

Some of that area may be closed from the fire. Check with the Stanislaus or Sierra Nat forests to be sure !

FYI.... I alreeady scouted the route and while fire closures are affecting Old Yosemite Rd in certain places, we will have an open route all the way to the fire look out!

See Everyone on Sunday!

Just checked the GPS file and we will be riding 61 miles off road. Weather shows 61 degrees and sunny on Sunday. Should be a great day of riding.

Gail, I'm planning on coming up 49 from Fresno on the Tiger 955 rolling on Anakee 2's. I'm assuming the offroad is fire/forest service roads. If trails are involved, I'll take the DRZ. Is the "tree" at the Junction of 49 and 132 with the picnic table at the fire station?

Thanks, Steve

Could you send gps file? I try to make it. My dualsport tires almost gone, hopefully not too many loose hill climbs.

I have not been to Trumbull lookout, but most of that is easy dirt road. I am not sure about the last 1/2 mile. I think there is a gate that may or may not be open to get to it.

The "tree" is the one in front of the Jeffery Hotel next to the monument.

Thanks Gary. I spoke with Gail this afternoon and he said the same the thing. The last bit to the top is two track. I shouldn't have any problem with the top heavy but lovable beast! Gail, I'm looking forward to this. From the Golden Chain to the dirt. Thanks!

Gail that was another awesome ride. My first time to the Trumbull fire look out and the view was spectacular.

The 2 gates up to the lookout are usually locked because of 'damage' done from the Motor Fire a few years ago. Were they locked or open. It is easy to go around them so I have but one time a campfire cop stopped me and hassled me about being up there because it was 'unsafe'. I told him "They were open during deer season, what changes between deer season and present time that makes the area unsafe?" He let me go without a ticket but followed me (or tried to lol) all the way down the road to the gate.
