Hey Chris,

I think I'll come out and ride this. It's a good cause. I'll be solo it's just for the day for me. No camping.

I have about ~60 folks signed up so far (thanks!).....ordering T-Shirts tomorrow so if you're not in TODAY you may not receive a "T".....(I'm not ordering a lot of extras......I'd rather kick the $ to charity)

I'll be sending out more info on the fundraiser to registrants this weekend/early next week.

Gary has 5 folks signed up for his off-road clinic on Friday the 22nd.......hopefully a few more will step forward.....

Report from one of our SDAR members who took a course from him with her family this past weekend: http://dualsport-sd.com/forums/index.php?/topic/15233-my-day-at-motoventures/page

Thumb Generous "CORE 4 Kids" offer by Glamis North Hot Springs Resort

Posted today on Glamis North Hot Springs Resort Website: http://www.glamisnorth.com/Newslette...30313News.html

"I'll keep this message simple... we love the work Crawdad Off Road Events does to help raise money for the Children's Cancer Research Fund. Every dollar raised makes a difference - and just by reserving your site or cabin at Glamis North, for CORE weekend (March 22-24), you can help save a life!
How? Any new reservations between now and the CORE weekend will score CORE 50% of the reservation fee for this amazing effort. The math is simple: if your reservation fee is $100, Cal and Roslyn will donate $50 to The Children's Cancer Research Fund in your name, through CORE.

Reserve your site now, and consider making an additional $80 donation to the these amazing kids via CORE, and you'll get an event T-Shirt, GPS tracks for the area, more fun than should be allowed in any given weekend, and the satisfaction of knowing that your gift is making a difference. Volunteers will be on hand to guide you (if needed), and you're guaranteed a great time while also supporting a seriously great cause. Visit the CORE for Kids webpage for more information.

See you March 22!

Sassy"

CORE 4 Kids Preview/Ride with Lane and Paco

I met Lane and Paco out at Glamis North Hot Springs Resort yesterday so they could ride/preview what I have in store for participants at this year's CORE for Kids fundraiser next weekend: http://crawdadoffroadevents.com/core-calendar/view/87

Fun day......made some final adjustments to the GPS tracks......Dual Sport route with all options is ~150 miles of smiles........."Stickered" routes are ~20 to 115 miles depending on options....

Gas after ~90 miles (plated) and after 50-60 for stickered vehicles

Some pics from yesterday:

Looking out of the Bat Caves with Paco heading in........Salton Sea in the distance

Another pic out in front of the Bat Caves:

A few pics snapped of Paco & Lane down in one of my "hardway options" near the Meccacopia Trail:

View Point/new rembrance plaque.....nice view of Salton Sea

Fun/tight section along Meccacopia Trail:

Joshua Tree Nat'l Park

Lane's discovery of a rear flat at lunch was timely - shade!

Nice view down into Red Canyon

Deep in Red Canyon

The Pinnacles of Red Canyon

Dos Amigos on The Bradshaw Trail:

The desert colors are starting to pop

Hope to see many of you next weekend!

Another "CORE 4 Kids" in the books.......Thanks to everyone who came out.......I'll publish the donation total once we have time to process through the details.....

I arrived early on Thursday evening..........Gary LaPlante of Motoventures rolled in around 9am on Friday and I took him on a mini tour of the facilities/surrounding terrain........just snapped one pic of Gary sitting with his students outside of my toybox during the morning briefing

I went for a brief ride with some friends on Friday afternoon to show them a few of the new wrinkles I'd sprinkled in for this year's tracks......

We checked in ~90% of the fundraiser participants on Friday night.........things went fairly smoothly all things considered.......

The resort staff was nice enough to open the restaurant at 7am for the morning check-in/breakfast........smooth sailing once again.....

I went right to work on exploring/developing the 2014 tracks on Sat while the registrants rode the 2013 layout........

I snapped a few pics with my phone while out exploring on on Sat.

Sometimes the explorations yield trail segments that I can use to extend or change an existing track(s)........sometimes they put me on a dead end/bluff.......regardless, they're always capped off with a smile......rest assured I'll have a few new wrinkles again next year.

All feedback welcome........let's see more of your pics/trail tales!

Update

Just a quick update to let you all know we're just a tad past ~$3,500 in contributions for the Children's Cancer Research fund and it's all thanks to those of you who attended and/or contributed!

I'm expecting a few more contributions to come in before the end of April.......with any luck we'll approach the $5,000 goal I set last year.

Please feel free to share the direct donation website address with family/friends/business associates: Children's Cancer Research fund

Next year's CORE 4 (?) fundraiser will be held on Martin Luther King weekend (Saturday, 1/18/14). I'm moving the event to January to take advantage of cooler temps/Monday holiday for the kids (Pool will be heated/mineral tubs will be flowing)

Please start spreading the word and/or making your plans and reservations now.......I'm looking to fill the Glamis North Hot Springs Resort next year and I'm hoping we'll be able to hit ~$10K in donations for next year's chosen charity.

I'm also hoping to land some sponsors for next year's fundraiser so we can offer cooler T-Shirts and possibly some other swag at check-in and/or in a raffle or silent auction......

Gary LaPlante of Motoventures is also on board once again to offer his off-road training class "on-site" at Glamis North on Friday 1/17/14 and/or Sat 1/18/14 assuming the minimum registration numbers are met. Money well spent for you and/or your loved ones......enjoy the sport you love confidently/safely.

I'll make an announcement on next year's chosen charity later this year......right now we're leaning towards finding a suitable/reputable charity that benefits our troops......Kathy and I have 4 boys who have served, or are currently serving, in the U.S. Military so once again it's a cause/fundraiser close to home for us.

Thanks again for coming out in 2013!
