F 800 GS Ambient Temperature Sensor

After cleanig my F8GS with a jet washer the ambient temperature sensor seems to show weird things. (all values in Celsius)
When riding home from the gas station it started to snow and the temperature sensor started to show a flashing 1. But even when it snowed I think it was a lot warmer. Around +5 degrees Celsius.
I parked it in the underground garage (+8° C) an waited 30 minutes, when I turned on the ignition it showed a flashing 1 after turming ignition off and on again it showed just " --". I turmed ignition off and on again and it showed the flashing 1 again.

I guess I killed the ambient temperature sensor, although I kept the peressurized water away from the instruments and so on.....

Does anyone know where it slocated and if it is a lot of work to replace it?

Thanks
Steve

Many thanks. I entered "ambient temperature sensor" as search query but what came back was a lot of bullshit.

However, my sensor was very accurate and showed changes very quick. It started to do wird things when I jet washed the bike today after I dumped it in a muddy field...

cheers

I just use google and type in advrider as a keyword instead of using the search function on the site. It works a lot better.

This morning, after the bike had one night to dry again everything seems to work properly again. At least the temp indicator showed 10 degrees Celsius, which seems to be correct (inside the underground parking area).

Thx
Steve

or you can type in:

key words you are looking for site:advrider.com

with no spaces in that last part and it will only search the ADVRider site!
(do not put the www on the front of the site)

Mr Wooden, Sir! Hope you're well!

I tried that right as you described and, guess: it worked great
Thank you, another perfect JRW hint
