It's all a convenient distraction from the real problems (fiscal).

No.......We are civilized now and government would never do anything to hurt or hinder the prosperity of the populace and 100s of years of history is suddenly irrelevant. Follow blindly child, big brother knows best

Don't want to get this punted to CSM but

This is the reply I got from Pearlmutter.

Talk about political double speak.

First he tells you how he supports the second amendment...then tells you how he is sponsoring legislation to ban the future sale of assault weapons and magazines while maintaining the rights of current owners.

Which end of the see-saw you want up, Ed?

Quote:
Thank you for contacting me about 2nd Amendment rights and your views regarding my position towards gun violence prevention. I appreciate hearing from you on such an important issue because it enables me to better represent the beliefs and values of our district.

I believe in and value the 2nd Amendment and the rights of responsible gun owners, and we can protect these lawful rights and still work to ensure the safety of our kids and our communities. I am working with gun owners, community groups, families, and law enforcement to consider and act upon common sense solutions a majority of Coloradans and Americans support such as addressing mental health issues, and enacting criminal background checks on all gun purchases. Also, I am sponsoring a measure to stop future sales of military-style assault weapons and high capacity assault magazines like the ones used in the Aurora movie theater shooting. This measure closes loopholes which plagued the 1994 ban. This measure does not take from or limit the use of these weapons already owned by law abiding citizens. As a nation, we can uphold and protect our Constitutional rights under the 2nd Amendment AND take needed steps to make gun violence less easy, less frequent and less deadly.

Although we were unable to find common ground this time, I understand and am respectful of your strong beliefs on this topic. I look forward to working with you in the future on the many issues where we are in agreement

I still encourage you to continue to contact me about the issues that are important to you. Please visit our website www.perlmutter.house.gov where you can also sign up for my electronic newsletter, and receive periodic updates on my activities as your representative in Washington.

Sincerely,

Ed Perlmutter
Member of Congress

The last thing Pulmutter is concerned about is what we think.

Yeah, thats the form letter everyone gets. The only actual real response I got was from Doug Lamborn. He actually took the time to answer me.

I gotta say I am gettin so F#cking sick of having to write letters to try to save the way of life I enjoy. I have to have written close to 200 letters in the past few months for both riding and shooting.
I'm so F'ng tired of others trying to take things away from me.

Get this, the CBI is going to go from 1.5 million budget to 4 million dollar budget.

Guess how? Background check money. Cha ching!

The dems won't even limit the cost of the check to 10 bucks.
