Idiots go to Ivanhoe

This was a 6 day trip for me last weekend, out to Ivanhoe NSW Aust, for some Beers with some mates on Saturday night.
Peoples names have been omitted to protect the innocent/guilty.

Started on some familiar dirt near Rathdowney.
This is the next crossing from where a mate drowned his bike on his way home.

Zipped out through Stanthorpe and Texas to Goondiwindi

to set up camp on the river bank

at the Nindigully Pub, where the Swedish Backpacker Barmaid proceeded to try to get me drunk.

The next day I went via St George and Dirranbandi

(had to pause here so some fish could cross the road. Yes, Really! They were big too.)

to Hebel where I ran into my mate way earlier than expected.

We then rode some long roads

and about 250k's of dirt until we got to Louth

where they will let any Turkey set up a tent on some beautifully plush grass.

Louth has a great pub with good burgers, plenty of drinks and they even cooked us a great breakfast the next morning too. Highly recommend dropping in if you're in the neighborhood.

100k's up the dirt is Tilpa where we were going to get petrol but there was nobody in town.

So we went another 50k's down the dirt and turned left. Here's the left turn

When we got to the Barrier Hwy we did a quick 11km run up the tar to the roadhouse for some petrol and then came back to the same intersection to continue south towards the Hoe. Here's my mate as he rejoins the dirt.

I tried to take his picture but I missed

and missed again. I suck.

100k's later and it was time to turn left again

only 43 more km's and we were there

What happens in The Hoe stays in The Hoe

On Sunday I was traveling with some other mates, south on the Cobb Hwy when we were overtaken by some Hoons.

We took the Mossgiel Road which was a bit of fun.

only about 5 minutes after the Bulldust incident we found this bloke making some minor repairs on the side of the road

so we hung around to make sure he did a good job and we took pictures of his handy work. Note the use of Wire, Occy Strap, Zipties and Race Tape.

We all then rode to Hillston. We saw some pigs

And then we went to Griffith where we found some broken falling off fags.
(mates of ours that didn't make it to the Hoe because they fell off their bikes)

After some lunch, my mates had to continue their journey homewards

I stayed in Griffith and provided medicinal Grourbons to the broken blokes and we had pizza for dinner. The next morning my broken mate and I went back to Hillston and put this in here

I then headed north and had lunch at the Mt Hope Pub

and then I rode

and rode

I was getting bored coming in to Nyngan so I rode along the access track between the road and the train line for about 30km's which turned out to be a real good idea as I rode straight past all the roadworks. Heh heh heh

About 15k's before Walgett it was trying to rain so I headed into the scrub for about 500m and set up camp before I got all wet

f*** there are some freaking flies out here

It hardly rained at all and I was initially disappointed that I didn't get to Walgett for the night,,,,,,,,,, until I got to Walgett, where the only sign of life was a cop car doing slow laps of town looking for naughty Aboriginals.

At Collarenebri my intended route was blocked

so I took the Hwy to Moree

and then about 50km from Boggabilla I hit reserve, which was a problem as I can normally only get maybe 40km out of reserve. So I rode at 70kmh for ages and did the lean the bike right over when it stopped thing and eventually made it to Boggabilla where I got some petrol and some lunch and some weird guy talked to me and wanted my email address .... fucken creepy weirdo. That's his white Patrol in the pic.

Back through Goondiwindi

to Warwick and then Kilarney where it really started to rain properly

Did the Mt Lindsey Rd (NOT Hwy) to Rathdowney in the pissing down rain then an hour later I was home.

6 days
3237km Total
976km dirt
52 Bourbon and Cokes

That was Fun!

Some of the guys made this cool video of the trip

I'm the one who has to die when it's time for me to die, so let
me live my life, the way I want to.
