Replacing swing arm bearings
I'm in the process of replacing my drive shaft ( that exploded on a trip). The drive shaft also took out my swing arm and hence I've got another one. I'm replacing the bearings in the swing arm, and just about to order all the parts for the final repair. Question: do the swing arm bearings need to be pressed into place? Or is this something that can be done by the shade tree mechanic?

The races are pressed in but it is relatively simple. You do have to be careful with the final assembly but it is by no means rocket science. If the replacement swingarm is used you could inspect the existing races and possibly avoid it altogether if they aren't scored/worn.
