Hi Bronx and 'Aussie cancer charity team'. Well our little run over here is all done and dusted. See little wrap up report here. http://www.adventurebikerider.com/forum/25-ride-reports/236312-the-abrac-charity-ride-is-over.html
Raised about £3000 which is nearly $5000. Not bad for a little run about having fun! Thanks for pushing me to do it. Guys here are talking about trying to set up an international charity ride. Would have to be for some one like Red Cross or Unicef who cover all countries. Up for that?

Cheers to all

Well done to all that organize these events.

I have just been checking out your website and was wondering when and where the Victorian rides will be held.

I think the plan is to coincide with the Relay for Life event at Bright later in the year

Yes, Paul is correct. Just working with the organisers of the Bright R4L event (23rd-24th November) and possibly another Central Victorian ride kicking off from Bacchus Marsh on the AFL Grand Final Weekend to be lead by Miss Jane so stay tuned .

AND Will, great effort on the Sister Ride in the UK. We could make this an International multi-Island fund raising ride one day

Cheers,

Adv UnCut

Thank you for the information.

Will watch out for them.

Just a couple of probably stupid questions, but couldn't find the information on the webpage.

Is it an organized day ride or a ride over a couple of days?
If an overnighter, do you arrange your own accommodation?
Is there one yellow spanner that gets handed over by a particular rider from one leg to the other?
Costs involved - Pre registration or can register on the day?
Dirt or tar option?

That is all for the moment.

Not stupid questions, so here are some answers for the Bacchus Marsh ride (since I'll be leading it)

It's a day ride at this stage, but I will aim to finish somewhere with various options so folk can turn it into a weekend if they would like.

If you want to stay over night, organise your own accommodation, or bring a tent. The aim is to sit round a campfire for the evening for those that have the time.

Personally I don't mind who carries the yellow spanner, but it is often zip tied in place so doesn't normally move between riders much. However this year can be different.

There will be a pre-ride briefing, but in the past we've not done registration.

Ummmm, you know I love dirt, so there is definitely a dirt option through Central Vic.
As for a road ride, I think we'd need another ride leader for that - any takers?

Hope that covers it.

I feel like Mr. Squiggle asking Miss Jane a question!

So will the ride West from Bacchus Marsh end up at Mr. Fong's place in Adelaide(beer and pizza) like last year?

I love riding dirt too; it just the soil sampling I am getting a little tired of!

Assuming Slow and Gags survive the Cameron Corner ride, I am sure they will be in the posse.

Brian, I reckon we can do a road bike ride for those not wanting to do Jane's dirt thing from the Marsh (so you can bring out the GSX....please ). There's some great country roads up in this area so we can make this thing bigger than just ADV, as long as they want to camp at Mt. Alexander or similar.

Cheers,

Mt Alexander is tar up and over the top, so suitable for road bikes. As is Mt Franklin which would be another camping option. Just a little bit of dirt in the camping area.

Hi there XRsquiggle
No the ride won't end up at Fongies
Different format this year, we are doing rides in most states but not linking them up. So it will be shorter, but just as fun
I've got some nice little tracks to ride that I suspect most people will find a bit surprising so close to Melbourne.

Slow and Gags had better be there, other wise there will be trouble.
