Well sorry that was and is very unclear to me so that's why I asked. And about for instance if Sjaak writes N70.53.078 W153.35.345 and it is not N70 53.078 W153 35.345 then it is also surely not N70.53078 W153.35345 as suggested in the picture because why would he have written two dots? Please explain this unusual notation.

To pull the sled over the polar ice I presumed until now.

There are no roads on the polar ice so I thought that the trip was over the ice. But now you tell me that Barrow-Nuiqsut was over land? That is new for me!

As you can understand now for me the idea that they would have slept there was silly as I was thinking that the trip was over the ice. So why go 100 km on land to sleep there? Sadly the wrong position notation made it even worse.

Your words.

But my questions remain:
-Where are the pictures of the overland journey Barrow-Nuiqsut?
-Where are the videos of those days and nights?
-Did the guide have a tent? Where did he sleep?
-Where are the pictures of the night camps?
-Not a single picture of the guide and his snowmobile pulling the sled.

Very amazing that that those days are not covered.

Can you explain why?

Note that Sjaak just finished the adventure. He's on his way home. Once all the footage and photos are reviewed a video(s) of this incredible ride will be forthcoming.

As to the rest, Sjaak has a website and FB pages. I see your in the Netherlands, go visit him. I'm sure he'd love to meet another Inmate. Your sig line suggests you'd have much to discuss. And you can continue your 'quest' to expose the hoax.

Kudos to everyone who assisted Sjaak along the way!

Interesting trip to say the least. Your being a bit harsh in your answers to the dutch guy. If you remember, I am the person who very early said the trip over sea ice would not be possible due to rafting and the loss of coverage.

Looking forward to the pics and story as they should be amazing.

So just a few notes for all since I got the chance to pick Sjaak's brain for a week.

Yes he did sleep on the ice, I have seen a few videos and pictures. Yes the guide had a tent. They actually got very creative to help keep the bike warm, but I won't spoil his story.

Part of the travel on ice was cut short because of conditions of the ice so they crossed onto land and the tundra early making a line to Nuisqsut. No roads were involved at this point. From there he went alone on the service roads made for the oil industry heading to Prudhoe Bay.

You have not seen pictures and videos because he has not shared them and probably will only share a few pictures to get the point across. Sjaak's business and livelyhood is doing daring adventures and then producing movies and books about the adventures. It would sorta of work against himself if he did the typical ride report you find on here.

Trust me, this adventure was not a hoax.....he really did it, but all did not work out as originally planned so he had to adapt and overcome!! It wouldn't have been a real adventure if everything went as planned now would it!!??!!??

Seen him in prudhoe bay and I'm sitting on the polar ice in a truck as we speak about 20 miles from nuiqsit. His trip was epic. Congrats for being the toughest sob on an r1. Between barrow and nuiqsit their is no where to sleep other than in his sled.

Marty,

blackcaps clearly has an ax to grind. Not sure why, but since he is clearly implying that a motorcycle didn't go from Barrow to Key West, I don't think I am being "harsh", even a bit so. Frankly, everybody has found the silliness of it a riot. I guess cap the dutch guy expects that NatGeo was there with snow cats and choppers to document it? You know cameras and cell phones don't work so well at -40.

Hey a lot of people said the sea ice was impossible. It was not. And the sea ice is different from year to year, and this year it was not ideal for the goal. Too warm and it started to break up. In the end, sea ice, or frozen tundra, or frozen tundra lakes, what's the difference? Sjaak's got balls. And he did it.

James

Objection!

Please reread my posts and rethink them.

Your accusations are fabricated and so harsh.
