2005-2007 handlebars

I have to replace the bars on my 2006 GSA. Are the regular bars the same minus the crossbar? I was wondering if I could get GS bars and bolt my cross bar onto it as a cheap fix. Or, are the shape of the bars different.

I'd greatly appreciate any real world knowledge you have.

I can tell you that the GSA crossbar can be installed on a GS.

They are the same. The GS Adv only added the crossbar.
