baja designs makes good stuff. see lots of them down in mexico.

also. people though LED's were the wave of the future. But then the trophy trucks were outrunning them. So now LED are more of the low beam floods and HID's are still high beam spot lights. So if you were to use a single projector with HID, better to use it for high beam and run LED for low beam.

bringing this one back from the dead....
I understand a single light is obstructed by the head stem mounts....but is it possible to mount say two BD Designs Squadron lights...one in place of each current light, and not cut the frame?

Maybe by putting them in front of the original frame (not inside as it's originally designed). I'm considering that option too

Headlight Connector?

I am assembling the parts I need to replace the stock headlight assembly (with a melted reflector and fogged lens) with something I'll put together using Hella 90mm high and low beam halogen projectors. I would rather not butcher the stock connector on the bike's harness. Has anyone managed to identify this connector and/or find a compatible plug. I have Googled this to death without luck.

Thanks
mike

If your old headlight is junk, take the wiring out of it from the plastic side. Use that connector, it unplugs from the inside. Save the glass lens if it's good.

Thanks Reaver. That's Plan B.

When I build the new headlight unit, from Led high, and Hella 50mm HID low, I just bought little pins at Radio shack. They fit perfectly into the stock connector. I then used electrical tape just as you use wood on the exterior of a concrete slab, and filled the void with silicone. I now had a waterproof connector. Ran it like that til I sold the bike, with no issues.

Thanks Erling. That's Plan C. I was hoping that the pin spacing coincides with some standard perfboard so I could similarly mount male contacts on the board and then encapsulate the back side in a similar manner.
