In the process of installing the new muffler I realized the turbo downpipe was falling off ,the only bad part of the pipe was where vibration ate it up at the turbo so I trimmed off the the paper thin part and installed a seal clamp, voila problem solved.

Checked the exhaust brake while it was apart, that should be good to go.

I went for a little test drive last night, which I was quite exited about, this thing rolls!
The only two minor issues I noticed was the throwout bearing is noisey, hopefully some grease will help that, and the steering feels a little vague.
I will check the alignment and go from there.
Not bad so far.
I don't think the P/O knew what a grease gun was either.

Maintenance is the first thing owner operators skimp on. But, at least he had a straight pipe.

The lack of grease could be the reason for the play on the steering.

The tie rod is bent, they must've tried to adjust the toe as by the amount it's bent it would be toe'd way out.

It acts like it's toe'd out a little though.

I will check the other steering links while i'm at it though.

Sounds like a good preventative maintenance program.

I just bought a 99 F350 with a 7.3 diesel, only 85,000 miles, no rust.

Test flight.

I managed to finally get this thing to where I can drive it the other day and this thing hauls ass!
High gear at 55mph, 1,300 rpm.
2,000 rpm high gear,80mph.

Today was the first drive with the camper in tow and it's just as impressive.

Well, I guess they didn't bother to adjust the toe after bending the tie rod.
Sumbitch was over an inch toe'd out.

I got that straightened out though and she's good to go.
