New Argentinian Border fee as of Jan 6th, 2013 for US, Canadian, Australian riders

Hola,

I see you are traveling in South America. If you are intending to ride into Argentina they have made a change starting JAn 6th, 2013. We must pay a reciprical tax of $160 USD online before entering, I got turned back at the border for not having mine..... fortunately it was into Chile where the cafe had fast WIFI and a Printer!!

But under the log in you need to "sign In"to get the "entry Code"

or go to this link to fill in your info and get entry code then sign in and pay online. Print out payment receipt and take to border with you.

Hi Radioman; great tip. Does it matter if I've already crossed the border with Argentina already? I already crossed from Bolivia a few weeks ago.

I'm guessing not as you were turned back around and presumably had already crossed into Argentina. Many thanks in advance!

Only if you leave Argentina and return.

OOPs... Sorry I did not see your or Mikes posts on the subject since I have been in and out of Argentina riding for almost two months.... Then riding Caraterra Austral I got to border and got turned back. Just trying to help others that are on the road.
