USA 2009 ktm 990 EFI system

Question regarding the EFI system, does the 2009 USA version has the newer type EFI system or did it start only in 2010 when the bike got the new speedo gauges ?

I am trying to figure out when the switch happen that seems to have reduced the throttle jerkiness .

For sure 2010-2013 have it, I am trying to figure out for 2009

Thank you

Thank Paul, I believe it too.
I think the 09 has the old speedo with new ecu.
Trying to confirm, mostly to educate myself, still trying the find a project rather than a newer bike

A 2009 USA (or 2008EU) bike should have the new style dash. And the new style dash models have the new ECU (and the SD engine parts).

All of the old style dash bikes have the old (jerky) ECU.

There really is no old or new ecu. its just software. I prefer the 'old' one as it does not have the coded key and immobilizer.

2010 map changed to 2011

I have a 2010 990, don't know about the 09 but I had the dealer remap mine to the 2011 mapping and it was much smoother the the original 2010

I've got an 09 and it's the newer ECU with the ABS and immobilizer. I haven't ridden a previous model so can't really comment if it's smoother or not. It is definitely touchy, especially if the surface is loose/slippery.
