South Oz - Chain master link circlip needed today if possible!

Hi all,

Today is Easter Monday and all the shops are shut and i have noticed the circlip on my master link is missing while cleaning the chain.

I need to get to work tomorrow so I'm hoping to borrow a circlip if someone has one spare. I can get a replacement for you during the week.

I'm in Modbury North, South Australia.

Here's what my chain looks like without it:

There is no side load on that link, doubt if it will fall off, could have been like that for a while!
For your peace of mind, just strip back some electrical wire and wrap around the clip grooves, have done that myself!

You don't need a master link.

Just remove the master link and push a regular link together with a vice or just a hammer and punch.

I've done it many times. It works, just takes time and fiddling.

Got it sorted guys. I used some galvanised fencing wire in a figure 8. I'll pick up a link during the week.

Problem solvered!

Yeah, gave her a wash yesterday and then spent a bit of time today doing a bit of detailing today. I was finishing off by cleaning and respraying the chain when I noticed it the problem. It's always a good idea to give the missus some attention every now and again so I notice these things
