Question Highway Dirt Bike hand guards for 2007 GSA?

Has anyone figured out how to mount HBD's on a 2007 GSA?

Working on that one now for my 2011. Does not just bolt on but they can be modified slightly. Pics in a week or so with the mods. I might redesign the clamp mount to the bar to allow better figment for cables, etc. nothing that the average do it yourselfer can't accomplish once he knows what to modify.

Ahhhh.

Not what you are inquiring about...but my Bark Busters on my '07 GSA were easy to install and very stout...no mods...great product.

Honestly don't understand what a "Highway ..Dirt Bike " guard is supposed to be used for? Or is that a brand?

Ps...found their webpage...they look stout and perhaps way over engineered but I tend to buy products that "exceed design needs" also!

I've got a set of Cycras on mine that I love and have been through hell as well. I know the HDB is really good stuff, but the Cycras were a real simple setup- just get the connector for the Pro Taper bars.

Agree with the Cycras...I fitted them to the ProTapers I put on my GS, but I don't see why they wouldnt fit on a normal GS bar (). I would get the ~1" spacers that Cycra sells or make your own to help make room for the brake and clutch cylinders.

To fit in the bar weights, I recommend getting 2 M12 flat head socket screws and drilling a ~1/2" hole through, making a tapered washer. then fit that between the bar end and the guard. You'll have to drill out the hole in the guard to fit the M12 bolt.

Nothing yet. I had HDB's on another bike and dropped it a LOT. Never bent them!

I sent HDB a email about doing guards/aftermarket bar setup for my bmw gsa.
They did reply and said if enough interest was shown they may produce a kit.
That was 6 months or so ago.

update

By coincidence I emailed them last night and they said that they are finishing a project atm, but due to use a customers bike once that is done to investigate the production of a 1200GS solution. Fingers crossed.

I especially like their hidden mirror solution (and over-engineered construction) for offroad stints, as our pigs have been known to have a penchant for little naps in the dirt. Has anyone come across anyone else that has such a tidy solution for mirrors on a 1200GS?

I put a set on my HP2 enduro using there Pastrana FMX bars and had no trouble installing them. Not sure how different the GSA's are but they use the same controls/lever's.
my only complaint is the mirrors rattle when there folded in but I think if I mess around with them I could find a solution to that. They are 100 times beefier then the cycras I replaced.
