Carrizo Plain is perfect for NooBs...... Not difficult, but you can learn a lot..
Spend the night at one of the two campgrounds and ride highway 33.. Perfect weekend. . |

I just rode Rowher Flats on my XT600. It's close by but may be a bit tight for a GSA.

Go take a class. There are several out there: Motoventures, Jimmy Lewis, Rawhyde.
They may look expensive, but having the skills to not crash pays for itself very quickly. |

Decent dirt/ fireroads from 15/138 split all the way to Palm Springs. Or just go out to the desert.

Check with some of the local BMW dealers. Several of them have regularly scheduled rides.

El Mirage dry lake. Great place to ride as mellow or nasty as you want.
