The Little Dakar at the Little Sahara 02/16/2013

"The Little Dakar at the Little Sahara" (another Bad idea developed by the Tulsa Tuesday Pub Crawl.)

What: Camping and Hooliganism

When: 02/16/21013

Where: Little Sahara State Park. Waynoka, OK

Why: We have always talked about riding dirt (or dual sport) bikes at the Little Sahara and now it is time to give it a try. Most of us are fans of the Dakar, however none of us can go spectate or compete, so we are rolling out our very own Oklahoma version.

Misc: This is an open invite to any inmates that would like to camp and ride on the Saturday 02/16. Riding on 2 wheels is optional, feel free to bring your 4 wheeler, side by side, or Mad Max style sand rail. This is a BYOB and BYOF (food) event.

IN.

I'll be taking the van from BA hauling one or more bikes. Have room for 5 additional humans + gear, but I'd need to borrow a trailer to manage more than two bikes (total).

Sounds like a nice idea, remember you have to be able to mount one of those flags our your moto to reach the bar

My favorite place to ride a 4wheeler

Kurt called, said he cannot make it. The playing field has been leveled.

That was always my favorite place to ride. Best riding there is (IMO.) I haven't been in probably ten years.

I've never been out there, the thought of deep sand brings back bad memories!! So there must be more than that, or there wouldn't be so many people who like it right?

Notice how he doesn't launch over the top of dunes. That will be a tough one to resist until we familiarize the area.

are FLAGs required out there? Are there certain rules established that MUST be followed or are you on your own?

Flags are required. Little Sahara is state park with on site park rangers.

ZOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM

Is everyone going to tent camp? Man, I may see if I can bum my brother's Excursion and sleep in the back of it....or borrow his travel trailer. Sleeping in the back seat of my pickup sucks.

Wow. That looks cool. I'm from Nevada and thought my days of dune access were gone. Maybe not. How's the weather in February?
