New set of wheels for 950SE

Hi, I'm about to order a extra set of wheels from Woody's.

For twisty tarmac and some gravel.

I'll go 19' in front. But what is max width?

Not sure about 17 or 18, or what widht.

Advice please?

Why not buy a set of tubeless Alpina wheels? Built on KTM Adventure hubs. Go into the SE with simply swapping the front outer spacers, very easy.

If your having the wheels custom made base your decision on what tire you want to run. My guess is you might have a greater selection in 19" x 17" than 19" x 18", assuming you want to run a matched set.

19/17 will maintain the same front to rear rim ratio as the 21/18

This will keep the bike geometry correct between wheel swaps.

If you can afford it going tubliss is a big plus. As to size just look at the BMW's and VStrom rim width as those will give you some of the biggest selection of tire choices.

Usually a 100/90 front 150/70 rear.

Since the rear is a 17 you will have many tires choices. But the 150 size still keeps the cost per tire down.

Pick one tire and look at the cost for a 150 vs 160 vs 170 etc.
You will see what I mean.

17/17 ... full on tardy wires .... awesome

You can run a 120/70-17 front HUGE selection of stickies available and 170 or 180/55-17 again the biggest choice, maybe something like a Michy road 2 or 3 for wear and backing in in a little easier ..... so I have been told

I ran Pilot Powers on my 990 SMR and they are sweet.

I am looking to find a set of 17/17 for ours to send back to NZ for our return then I can ditch teh DR for teh track and take Maya!!!

A 4.25" X 17" will give you many Adventure type tire choices. My favorite front 19" tire when I had an SE was a Distanzia.
Woodys can seal spoked rims for tubeless.
