Guys and gals, have fun this year, I am sorry I will miss it. Here is a montage of the SoJ Rally 2012. I didn't have the camera on for a lot of the tighter stuff (dummy me..) but this is still fun. Turn up the stereo and watch on the biggest screen you have....

Lake Pillsbury Resort's coin-op hot shower hours are approximately 8-10am and 6:30-9:30pm daily. (The showers run off of a generator run only at those times.)

As of today, Lake Pillsbury Resort has no gas at their store pump. Their marina gas is from last year and its pump is broken. They're not sure if they will be able to provide gas by the time we visit, but we're welcome to stop by and check.

Soda Creek Store remains our closest reliable gas source and they know we're coming.

Thanks for the info...

I'm taking Jimmy Lewis' class this coming weekend on my GSA and heading up to Mendo next weekend on it as well... I'm excited about learning more off-road skills and then being able to practice them right away...

I have proof I've made it through that water crossing, twice... that's just as many times as I've swamped it...

I'll make sure this year I bring warmer clothes in case I swamp it again... Last time, I could not get warm even by the fire after the second swamp and subsequent ride back to the camp site wet, with the sun going down and the temperature dropping...

Thanks again Janet for the blanket!

I was just up there a few days ago. The water crossings are fairly low. Unless we get some more rain they will be a non issue. Still fun though.

Looks like I'm not the only one taking a class just before the rally.
This Thursday and Friday I'm attending the Shane Watts "In Depth" skills
class in Sebastopol.

Hope to put some of the new skills to good use at the rally for the little
bit of riding I'm going to do.

If there's a way to mess up a water crossing, I'll likely find it...

Have fun Dean. I did [half of] the "HardCore" one. It was great - right up until I took a fall and broke my left wrist... and I'm left handed

Looking forward to Mendo.

Good for both of you!

I tried to get into Shane's classes at Livermore last year, but both sold out before I heard about them. So, I took Jimmy's 2-day class back in March. I wish I had taken it years ago! He helped me figure out the things I was not doing correctly and what to practice to fix 'em. Best money I ever spent.

I've had 2 long weekends in the Sequoia NF since (6 pages of several ride reports!), and I'm on cloud nine!

Oh, speaking of Mendo NF Rally ...

I'm looking for some intermediate-level or above riders on plated dirtbikes who like to play on the blue & black trails. Maybe do a little exploring up to the snow banks, ride Middle Creek and Stonyford. Maybe lunch in Covelo on Friday if possible?

I plan to arrive at the individual CG Thursday morning & ride all 4 days. Seeya at the Group site.

Catfish ...
