If I have room I'll bring my mtn bike too. Heck I ride it much more
than my motorcycles.

Also, has anybody checked the weather. Depending on the weather service you check
we're looking at between 89-99.

Bring your swim suit and shade if you can.

And we're food shopping tomorrow, heading up Thursday morning.

Any MTB riding would have to be in the early morning for me because of the heat, but I have no issues with that. The ride up to the top of Hull Mtn. looks to be about 4500' of climbing. I have no idea if I can even make that, but I'm willing to try. I'll be riding my full suspension Trek Fuel EX8.

I don't think Hull Mt. will be as difficult as when we rode to Star Lake. That ride began at almost the peak elevation of Hull Mt.

Here's what i just bought last month:

Pivot Mach 429 carbon with custom built wheels.

My Moots Uno only gets ridden about 20% of the time now.

Love to join you guys on the mtn bikes (Specialized Enduro hardtail) but I'm riding up.

Speaking of which, anyone else heading up from SF or thereabouts on Friday? I'm planning to ride up Rayhouse Road (if I can confirm the gate is open) to Hwy 20, Walker Ridge, Bear Creek, etc. Taking the KTM

Nice bike, Dean. I'm curious about how the dw-link rear works and how you like it.

(I think we may be starting a MTB thread...)

Best rear suspension I've ridden. No pedaling platform shock needed.
I'll tell you more at the rally and of course you can take it for a ride.

You thinking of any route in particular? I have to decide between my hardtail and dually (also an ex8). This mostly a fire road?

Road conditions: here.

Caveats
Bear Creek/Rice Fork cossing can be challenging. Polarized sunglasses help you see beneath the surface of the water to choose your best line.
The hot spring is on private property, but you may be able to see it from the forest road.
Lookouts are below 5k', but still may not be accessible due to snow; this route will get you close, though.

Can some early birds pre-ride this with a bold n00b ride in mind? Thanks!
I have a Garmin gdb and gpx files of this route. PM me with your email if you want a copy.

I was in the area Sunday and had a hoot. Should be some awesome fun this weekend.

I'll either be trucking up Thursday after work, or Friday AM.

Fire Engine Red Dodge Dakota, that's me

Be sure to ADV salute if you see me

The heat is going to suck...but hey...we have the entire lake to keep us cool.

I forget: Will the campgrounds have running water?
