90% packed. Leaving after work , around three. Should be there around six, depending on dinner/ traffic. I'm looking to go to the Whitehorse BBQ and then ride the PDR to Jamaica from Silver Lake on Saturday. Then finish the PDR to Gardner, and head home Sunday.

It's amazing what a change of tires, gearing and luggage can do for a KLR.

Leaving mid-day on Friday and all I have to do is change out my front brake line, register my bike, pack and get an hour south of here by noon-ish. No problem.

Any problem with the bag resting on the heatshield? I'm trying to mickeymouse some soft bags on my WR and the bag would be resting on the heatshield. I got spoiled with the hard bags on the beemer, that's for sure.

I can secure the bags down well enough to not move, I just don't want to cause any fires along the way

I hear yah. I was in the middle of trying to do 20 things when we lost our power. Wife just pulled in with a car full of fresh groceries, and no power = pull out the generator, gas it up, fire it up, etc.

So, needless to say, I am discombobulated.
