Well, if you're carrying a spare motor, I'll follow you anywhere!

Just remember, the next time you JB weld a piece of a beer can on your case, use the top (with the pull still attached) instead of the bottom. It makes for easier, single use, oil changes.

Can't wait to take the "new" bike into the rough (once I fix everything I'm finding wrong with it - so far: chain, sprockets, chain guide, seal guard, wheel bearings front and rear. The sad part is, the bike looked almost brand new on the outside.)

I'll probably take the 650 to WHACO though.

GMB - did you end up getting a KTM or did the little Suzuki purchase mess up your plans?

I'm kind of on a holding pattern for a new-to-me bike purchase much because of the car fiasco, and slightly because of the roof project (still have to do siding and insulation on the added space).

So for now, I just gotta get my KLR and my KTM running! Sorry to hear about the list of fixes on your new purchase. At least you're finding out in the comfort of your space, instead of on the side of the road after half a ride!

From the White Mountains to Jamaica...toss up any not to miss roads you feel like sharing..

Just nice to have options, I try to encourage people to break up into smaller groups and go different routes to the same end..

I have a route I ran the first year we did this I may run again this year...

Ha! It IS an electrical issue. Appears to be the CDI (well the CDI is definitely shot - just hope that's all there is to it) and I have a replacement ready. Heading out to do some wrenching either tomorrow or Thursday.

I'll have to go through my "GPS Everything" dump file and see if any routes have dates and directions indicating usefulness for this ride.

Seen this? I haven't dug too deeply into the list but there are certainly a couple great ideas on there.

Sounds very scientific!

Edited to add: Thank you to those who helped me out with photos.
