That's exactly what happened - whoever burnt the hut down was too stupid to check if there was a firespotter in the tower.

Firespotter took down rego numbers and also took video evidence.

While we're out maiming arsonists, will someone PLEASE catch, kill & release the shithead who's set Kangaroo Ground on fire at least three times in the last week.
Luckily CFA were onto this one in a hurry and by the time our brigade arrived, it was just blacking out needed doing - but the Skycrane and another chopper left our job to go to either Wallan or Bendigo where more fires had started - and today's a MILD day - Thursday's due to be hot, with northerlies.

Is it in a National Park? I know of a couple which were burnt down and were never to be rebuilt. The excuses were enviromental ones. There were some" rumours" as to who tourched them and I wasn't surprised.
