Shipping or trailering bike to d2d 2013

Is there anyone trailering or shipping a bike to Dawson City for D2D 2013 from near Anchorage or Fairbanks. Looking to combine and share cost of getting my DP bike there.

Considering that as an option.

I'd recommend shipping it to Anchorage, I would assume its a lot cheaper. Maybe Grizz can help you out......

I shipped a bike from Anchorage, AK to Jackson, MS last year through Classic Motion in Anchorage. The cost was somewhere between $1,100-$1,200 and included a metal shipping crate. You could probably call Classic Motion and arrange to ship the bike to them and have them hold it for you and then have them ship it home for you when you're ready. I don't know what part of Florida you're in but my crate is still in Jackson if you're interested in it. I'm in Palmer, AK right now but will be back in MS on April 16th.

Shipping to Alaska

That sounds about right price wise. Is the crate fully enclosed?. Was it shipped by barge or overland?. When you get to MS I can arrange to have it shipped Tampa Florida. Is the crate large enough for a Super Tenere?.

My guess is that the crate will look like this. Saw a lot of them at Classic Motion.

This bike arrived in the very same thing & was shipped from Ducati Seattle by their shipper.
Handlebars rotated down & shifted to one side.

The metal pallet can be picked from the side or the end by a forklift.

I looks like the same base but the top is plywood and 2X4's with metal support braces. My 2009 Honda XR650L fit without any issues and had plenty of room to spare. Mirrors had to be removed and handle bars were turned down.
