R1100GS Overflow pipes on fuel pump

I changed the fuel filter on my 1100 GS at the weekend and, im either getting more paranoid with age, or the fuel pump is louder. To change the fuel filter you need to disconnect the two overflow pipes in the tank. What would be the consequences of reconnecting the pipes in the wrong order?

it is easy to identify which hose is which. blow air (canned air duster) from the drain at the fuel tank cover flange.

If you did the cannisterectomy, does not matter which hose as both just drain out onto the ground.
Just remember, once you're over the hill, you begin to pick up speed.

Devil's advocate. Hell conscientious and informed and downright argumentative dissenter.
