![]() Left case: tools, riding gear, rain suit, etc. Right case: non-motorcycle stiff like clothing, street shoes, computer, toilet kit, books, etc. Waterproof duffle: full camping kit (tent, sleeping bag, ground pad, stove, water filter, food, etc, etc). Tank bag: tank bag stuff. This setup is good for two days or two weeks. I wouldn't hesitate doing a two month trip with nothing more.

2010:
Northface RED duffle, 2 gallon RotoPax (never needed),sleeping bag, tent, kermit chair (never needed) Scorched tent bottom when bag was too close to muffler! ![]() 2012: 35L Caribou case, 1-gallon RotoPax (perfect for Fairbanks to Coldfoot...safety), tent, sleeping bag, air mattress...no chair! All this is ON TOP of the Caribou case. High VIZ yellow strapping around entire Caribou case. Easy access. RokStraps are a MUST thing to have! Easy to have your street shoes on top...ready for dismount...walk around. Much better set up! Sleeping bag made great BACK REST!

I roll with the Jessie Odyssey cases, Wolfman expedition tank bag, and BMW soft tailbag. I would have gotten the Wolfman tailbag as its much cheaper and I like their stuff, but I found a great deal n the BMW one and you can put it where the back seat lives and use it as a backrest.

I think dry bags are the way to go. Walmart sells them and available on line camping and sporting stores.
![]() Next big trip I'm going to pack early and not take what isn't needed. If you are riding with buddies get together and carry one item when able. Best gouge: In one dry bag pack what you need each night . (i.e. toothbrush, PJs, teddy bear, underwear etc) This way you stop at the hotel, camp site, take that one bag and it has what you need for the night to relax. You don't want to open every can,bag etc collecting stuff then replacing it the next day. Those little laundry pods are good for the road too. BMW cans are 13 pounds a side and 10 pounds for top case. 36 pounds for the set plus maybe another 10# for the case holder set.

I only carry a few items in mine when traveling. If the weather is iffy, I stash my rain gear there so it is handy. My kitchen fits in one bag so that is in there.
I also have a mashed wide brim hat for shade when I pull the helmet off. At the end of the day I toss dinner and extra water in there.

I run a set of Touratech Zegas all the time: 35l left and 41l right.
On my normal around town rides, I run the Zegas with a Wunderlich handlebar bag. I've modified it with a Powerlet bulkhead so I can keep my cell phone charged. ![]() A better shot of the handlebar bag. I can keep a bandana, cell phone with charger and travel wallet in the main pocket. It has a flat pocket for my bike papers and a couple pens. ![]() On trips, I remove the passenger seat and use some dry bags to hold my camping gear. I also take off the handlebar bag and use a Wolfman Denali tankbag. ![]() Close up of the tankbag. I've also modified it with a Powerlet bulkhead. ![]() I'm pretty happy with this setup.

I've always carried a bar of Iovry soap. waffle-stomp in the shower. The new tech clothes dry fast.
Cotton t-shirts take longer, ![]() Quote:
