Australia's best riding.

Off the back of poppys post , I was just thinking..
What is the best state in Oz for riding?

My vote is for my home state Vic.
We have, within about 3 hours of Melbourne each direction..
- the best high country in the land.
- potential snow riding any time of the year
- desert through Hattah/sunset and beyond
- beaches and dunes down along the west coast
- great scenic views, great pubs, remote locations
- some of the best touring roads in the country, although the fun nazis have recently reduced speed limits. Bah.

I've ridden all states bar WA and Tas. Whilst other states have good terrain, Vic has it all much closer together.

Any thoughts?

I'll bite

I enjoy riding in Vic but...

Best high country? - argueable
A lot of water south of Mexico limits choice.
Snow are you serious?
Hattah - is it really desert?
Police.
Not sure about the remote comment.
Shit weather.

There is good riding everywhere.

I heard they burn down huts in the high country of Victoria.

But it is the gateway to Tasmania and I certainly enjoyed my 7313 klm adventure there.

this should of been a poll.

In IMHO based on having good riding weather, and verity of riding being the major factors:

1.Tassie
2. NSW, SA, Vic, QLD
3. ACT
4. WA, NT.

If you only take year round weather into account.

1. NSW
2. SA & QLD
3. Vic & Tassie
4. WA & NT

Another pissin contest
Winner
Victoria, weather doesn't come into it I ride in all weather ya wimp
Mind you I'm going on old memories and it seems they've built friggin houses in places I used to ride.
WA, plenty of space and if ya like sand , sweeeeet.
Tas, lotsa stuff cept desert and lets face it , small.
SA, haven't ridden here a lot but has most things but not as good as Vic.
NSW Lotsa good terrain but overly officias parks people plus too many people in general.
NT, never ridden there.
QLD, good variety of terrain though not up there with Vic or NSW good riding weather except it's dusty when it's cool and dry and hot when it's wet and muddy.
