Bike to Bike Communication

Hey I need some suggestions for bike to bike Commo, I don't need anything that plays music, makes phone calls, just looking for something so I can talk to my 11 year old when we are trail riding. Ideas?

You may not *need* that stuff, but you're going to have a hard time finding a modern comm system without the capability. Any of the Bluetooth systems will work - brands don't talk to each other, but most are offered in a twin pack that has two full sets. Bluetooth is full duplex and there is no noticeable lag when you're talking. The older Chatterbox system used FRS/GMRS channels and were simplex - only one person could talk at a time, and there is a slight lag before the VOX kicks in.

Check out Uclear. They have exceptional sound quality and are easy to use. The company makes headsets for US military helmets. They use the same technology in their motorcycle headsets. You'll pay a little more but in my opinion it's worth the extra cost.

Another consideration is the size of the transceiver. Riding in the woods, you or the sprog are bound to make the occasional close ground inspection. A massive headset is more likely to be damaged than a small one.

I just installed the Scala Rider/Cardo G9 on our helmets...
All I can say is WOW!!! This thing works perfect, Bluetooth GPS, Bluetooth MP3 music via my iPhone, Bluetooth cell calls- 80mph on the freeway and people have no clue I'm on the bike.. All voice activated features- I'm a fan.
