I'm hearing first week of April... which is next week. I'm hoping that's a real world date. My Tourance tires are just about finished in the center.

Me too. I've got a set of wire wheels with bald Tourance EXP's sitting in the garage that need some good 50/50 tires. The part of me that wants instant gratification is ready to go throw some TKC80's on them, but these look interesting enough to wait a couple more weeks.

Doesn't that mean you'll be ready for another set in a few weeks.

From Revzilla..........

Hi Don,

The Metzeler Karoo 3 Tires were expected to ship mid-April, so we are actually hoping to see them shortly. Of course, release dates are up in the air and always subject to change, but let's hope they arrive soon.

Enjoy!

John

......but who knows.......

I gave up and bought a set of TKC80's. Hopefully these will be out by the time I need my next set.

I bought a set of tourances, then F'd up and mounted them on the spoked wheels I just bought for the rough stuff, so I could send the front cast wheel in for straightening.
The problem is, I need a set of more dirt worthy tires by mid May so I'll have to swap tires when (IF?) I can ever get the Karoos. Otherwise it'll be TKC's for me too.

I'm starting to think that juggling tires and wheels might just be more effort than it's worth. Maybe it's better to just plan for lower mileage and more frequent tire purchases? Or maybe the Karoos will be good for 6k on the rear and that'll be plenty good enough!

Well, I have a TKC front here and need a rear tire before I can ride the pig. Been riding KilLeR for the past two weekends thinking that this thing was nigh. Think I blew her up keeping up with the big bikes.

Gotta get something on there now. Grrrrr.

waiting on reviews..

These look interesting but are they worth the cost? I wonder how they'll wear?

My GSA needs new rubber front and rear. My anakees lasted over 12k miles.. Rear is getting bald and front is cupped bad enough that I'm going to change it even though it's got a little depth left on it. I liked my old TKCs but they wore too fast on the street. They stuck surprisingly well on asphalt for a dirt oriented profile. I wanted something geared a little more towards the dirt than the anakees.

I ended up going the cheap route and gave the full bore M40s a try.. Reviews are somewhat mixed, but positive from those who've owned 'em. The cost with shipping for both was less than the cost of one Anakee.

Hopefully this summer I will test out the battle wings in the dirt on my other bike (S10) so I can finally settle on one tire model and not go through the comparisons each time.

Have any of you used the M40s on the GSA? Think they're worth it?

Worth it? Not a bad tire but I got 35% less mileage from the FB's than Tourances. Dirt grip better. Street grip worse.

My Karoo T rear starts to look like a racing slick! Waiting for K3 but I guess I'll just get another K2 meanwhile. I'll miss them even if K3's prove to be as good!
