Course revision for adventure bike racers!

Straight from the Race Chairman himself.

“It is looking like we will have a bypass for the race but we are not using it for the poker run. It is not 100% guaranteed at this point as it will be somewhat dependant on the level of the creek, but I would say it is a safe bet. While not as tricky as the existing trail the new section is still not going to be a complete cake walk....but they call themselves "Adventure Riders", right?”

We don’t want a repeat of last year with a bike in the water. Let your folks know it should be a blast!
Chairman and I are going over in 2 weeks to work on this new section. Will report back...all I can give out.

So..who will give Darryl a run for the money?

Darryl, tighten your bar clamps next time. Might help.

I am going for this with some serious training and bike setup!

How many takers do we have?
I'm hoping for conditions much like last year, also looking forward to keeping the rubber side down, No Flying W's for me this time.

Are you going to remove your windscreen this year? Your video from last year makes me flinch every time I see it!

Actually the revision is for all racers...no special bypass for the big bikes (that would be no fun, right? ).

MX813 & I were over there this past weekend and the new section is a go so you will not have to deal with the narrow & rocky section between the tracks & the creek this year.

I have to say I was a little taken back when I received that email.
I would never want any concessions for the ADV Bikes, If you cant ride the given course, you shouldn't be racing
Losing that bottle neck is a good plan for all.

Training

Anybody gonna be riding east of the mountains this weekend?
Might head out to the river on Saturday for a 60 mile ish loop. Its a nice rough and rocky bit, perfect for race prep.
The weather is supposed to be pretty good, last chance to ride before the big to do........

Yes.

I'm sure as hell not gonna drive to the coast just to ride on the wrong side of the mountains.

Team singlewide won on the SE950.

He almost narrowly lost to a coarse-threaded cap.

Good job. How did you like the rock wall/box canyon that was a huge bottleneck? I think that is one area that would suck on a big bike.
Respect for doing the whole course on a big bike, I am really hurting today, and I only had to do one lap.

Thanks! The climb actually wasn't bad at all, seeing all the bikes stacked up and waiting was a little frustrating, apologies to anyone i shoved past. My favorite by far was the smooth section by the irrigation sprinklers. Made some pretty good time through there.....
It was great to ride with all you guys, hope to do it again next year!
