Odyssey PC625 / 2011 GSA
My 2011 GSA oem battery was giving up the ghost, but apparently not quite dead enough for BMW to replace under warranty (although it tested at 9.8 under load). I read several threads suggesting the Odyssey PC625 was a good replacement option, so decided to give it a go. With some help from JVB, and a utility knife and dremel, the Odyssey fit right in. Needless to say, I am very glad to have this powerplant with our daytime temps hovering in the teens.

Yes the 535 may fit right in but the 625 is cheaper and more powerful

When I searched the threads before buying, there was some suggestion that the pc625 wouldn't fit newer GSAs with ESA.
It does.

Lithium light weight battery?
What about the lithium starter batteries like Shorai or Mirai?
I saw the Mirai battery at the DC motorcycle show a couple of weeks ago. They only weigh 1.74 lbs and have up to 325 CCA at 0 degrees. Here's a link:

My only problem with the alternative batteries is that their utility seems hit and miss. The Odyssey series are well proven. Jim
