How often should GasGas EC300 piston rings be replaced?

How often should I replace GasGas EC300 piston ring/pistons?

'11 EC300 with S3 High-compression head insert. Rebuilt top-end 10.2 tach hours ago. Inspection: the piston and cylinder showed no noticeable wear. Connecting rod big end/crankshaft: no vertical play.

GasGas User Manual (pg 17) states: Change/Replace every 3 fill-ups (* only if it is necessary). 3 tank fill-ups is about 15 tach-hours.

Based on my other 250cc 2-strokes, I'm estimating 30 tach-hours for re-ring, and 60 tach-hours to replace piston. Is this maintenance schedule too often for a EC300? Anyone with experience on the EC300?

Trying to pin it down like that results in waiting toooo long, or wasting time/money tooo soon.
Do leak-down testing maybe every fill-up, and the results will tell you when to open it up. You can buy
leak-down testers, or make your own; google "make your own leak-down tester"....

The last EC300 I rode had so much low end, I probably could have gone 10 years on the same set of rings.

i already answered this in your other thread, but that service interval is a bit short - a lot of it depends on how you ride, if you rev it more than you lug it, if you've boiled the motor often, if your air filter maintenance is slack. lots of factors. that being said, they are tough motors.

I read those instructions as "compression test every three fillups"

NOT change the rings every three fillups.

I would read those instructions to replace pistons or rings so as to prevent breakage and engine damage, not loss of compression.....
Well of course you would lose compression, but you know what I mean ..
