The lien certainly isn't helping things.

Instead of listing how many miles on the tires, I would state eg; "Still has at least 75% treadlife on current tires."

I might change a few other things, but this is a start.
Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Is the lien really a non starter? It'll take me a few days to pay off the remaining part of the loan and get the title in my name.

I feel you but I'm in no rush. When the time is right I'll roll into one of the KTM dealers within a few hundred miles of me and ride home on a new 690.

No room in the garage right now for a 4th bike. One day :)

If you can pay it off with non-lien loan such as a personal line of credit or home equity loan/line, you will have a release letter quickly and it will no longer be an issue.

When I read lien, I read, "I need you to trust me to take your cash, payoff the bike, and give me the release with the title". I also read "no fly and rides, unless you want to take a one week vacation in the tristate area, (+ the above)."

Got it.

Should I state that I will take a refundable deposit, pay off the loan, get the title in my name, and then the bike is yours?

I will wait a few weeks and if nothing I will just pay off the remaining part of the loan and get the title in my name...

I was thinking Manchester KTM (CT), Hanover Powersports (NJ), or Edelmanns (NY)

That sounds better than the open ended statement... To me anyways. that way it sounds like you don't need me to take much risk as a buyer.

Good suggestion with regard to paying off. You don't need to get a clean title though as long as you have the title and lien release. As long as the title has your name on it and you have the releases for all the lienholders listed, you're good to go.

The other thing you may consider if you have all the stock parts it selling off the toys. Leave a few key items on it but sell off the rest.
