The XT alloy wheel and hub are weak too. Buchanon's spokes are larger in diameter, so you wind up having to drill the wheel and hub, weakening them even more.

The TTR wheel is steel, and supposedly stronger. Not a big deal to make the TTR wheel fit if you have all the parts.

What, give up the most incredible ADV bike out there? Shirley you jest!

Ba: One of the routes we took yesterday were dirt roads right off of 7 north of the covered bridge in Cornwall.

The first road (off 7) is Swaller Hill, then right on Mt Easter which becomes Clay Bed and then Mt Easter again. This leads to W Cornwall Rd. and then White Hollow Rd to 112, close to Lime Rock.

For those who do River Rd in New Milford, right at the northern end in Gaylordsville take Station Rd, then right onto Front of the Mt Rd, into a series of dirt roads. Nice area back there I hadn't been in before.

Yup that's all part Housatonic State Forest which is a blast... you can really rip through there in a spirited or very spirited manner.

in the 5 hours it takes them to go from Brewster to Fort Anne they could probably find Hoffa, Elvis and God by accident

Hay y'all,
First time in this thread. I went on this ride today: https://goo.gl/maps/DcDLR

Is there anything I missed? Any roads or road-side stands I should look out for next time?

Danke.

I'm riding a '05 R1200GS that I've determined is a road bike. So I'm looking for streets, not dirt, that I should ride next time.

Yeah, and not everyone can run the Dakar. OK, maybe if they're on an XT (with stronger spokes. And a real electric system).

Alexcorral led our ride on Sat, and he also proved the big GS is not just a street bike. See his video here: http://advrider.com/forums/showpost....6&postcount=53

Of course, if they put a Starbucks in the middle of the TAT, then the GS would indeed be appropriate.
