I went with the 600. I don't need a topo map or camera. There was a outfit that had em on sale. You still need to get a CD for North America maps. There is a giant Montana thread in the GPS (Making Tracks) section.
This might help. (Trying on iPhone w Tapatalk so I don't know if it'll transfer)

I rode it with an uncorked XR650R and was doing wheelies or throwing rocks all day and made it...close but made it.

Here, I will make you some KLR Friends now...

"KLRs are not big ugly slow bikes...they are sexy performance machines"...

Bring that syphon hose, you should be good now...

Scott, you know the first liar doesnt stand a chance!!!

But, did you happen to see one of the latest Cycle World magazines, where they tested over 3 days the best dual sport for Armageden? Yup, you know which one won.... the KLR650.

Bring cash AND a siphon hose.

Ya know really, Just fuel up in Bixby on Saturday and on Sunday pick one of theose convience stores along the way and you wont need a siphon hose at all. Both days there are always a few gas pumps we sail by.

Registration

Gentleman,
Is there a registration process for the Swinging Bridges ride on May? I foolishly waited too long to register for the Arkansas 500 and now Iím not too sure we will be able to ride with the group. I donít want to do the same thing for this ride. My husband and I are looking forward to getting out and meeting everyone so I donít want to put this off if there is something formal we need to do.
Thanks for the help!

No registration required. Download the tracks on your GPS and show up and ride at your own pace.

That and get your room or camping arrangements made. Show up on friday nite in St Clair, meet some of the motley crew hanging around the Budget Lodging and if you want to tag along with some of the groups that run togther you will find one there. Or be there early Sat morning as most bikes are long gone by 7-730 ish and just take off on your own. You will pass and be passed by groups all day and if your having trouble they will check in with you if you need help.

If you happen to be trailering in Budget Lodgeing lets you leave your hauler out back until you get back Sunday. Be for warned they like for you to park in the dog walk area!!! Minefield!!!
