Thanks for your help there Mr. Sanchez. I know that Scotty posted on the web site that these routes were generated in MapSource 2013 but to be more specific it is 2013.30. The foolproof method to make sure that the routes work for you is to import them into whatever software version that you have and trace them with your routing tool and use that route.

The problem is that the mapset that you have in your GPS might be a different version than North America NT 2013.30 and when you load it there might be a problem. Using this method you can not go wrong, or so I am told. We need all of the GPS's that we can get working properly to bail us out in the event some of us get separated. Good luck and looking forward to seeing you all at the ride this weekend.

Team- We'll have enough folks with the routes loaded up with no problem, so those without a GPS would not be left to their own devices and spend either night out in the woods. Please don't worry about that.

Years back when I was a GPS noob and didn't understand routing, I loaded the AR TAT onto an old Garmin. I built the route on Mapsource and never thought twice about confirming how it appeared on the GPS. I didn't realize the GPS unit has a mind of it's own and changes things when you load a route onto the unit. The route once the gps unit finished converting the route I built on the PC was a complete and total cluster.

By the end of the first day I had some pretty irritated riding buddies with all of the Uturns and wrong turns. From that point forward when I get a route or tracks E'd to me I now confirm what I built on the computer jives 100% with the GPS unit. From that point forward I made a practice to dump the route onto the GPS and compare it to what was shown on the computer.

With the routes Scott posted up for day 1 and OLeary route which gets us back to TCWR the only stretch of road that doesn't show on my version of City Navigator is where we take the a pretty quick left (East) a few miles south of TCWR (the first turnoff from last years day 1 ride if I'm not mistaken) This invisable road puts us out on a visable road.

Soooo, load these routes onto your GPS and compare what shows on the unit to what shows on the PC. It'll take time, but you have to take the time to do it.

any of you guys ever use a website called www.gpsvisualizer.com to look at a GPX route via Google Maps? You have to have the route on your computer so you can browse for it and load but it works fine. Kinda nice to look at a big screen satellite view of the route.

check it out.

ok... call me a dumb! I have a zumo 660 and I am having the hardest time downbloading these routes in Basecamp. Everything looks proper until I look at the routes on the zumo and they tell me they are 576 miles and 378 miles long. I know that cant be.

I was thinking that maybe the distance from my home, but then one of the has a distance of 176 mi.

Anyone else having trouble?

Team-All three days are done:
AR131A
AR131B
AR132A
AR132B
AR133A
AR133B
AR133C

Day 3 had enough turns I had to split it into three parts.

Two of you have PM'ed me with your Email addy's. Post up if you want the routes suitable for Mapsource, and v7 of City Navigator fed into a 60CSX.
