Shoei DS with stock 990
Question: The wind seems to hit me in the forehead but is still OK. Want to get a Shoei DS but wondering how it works at 75 mph with a visor on it?

Just keep your chin pointed down the middle of the road, or do some neck exercuses to get ready. My Arai XD 3 is similar but looking up gets lots of wind assist.

I have ridden about 30-40,000 miles in last nine months with both a 950 and 990 with the stock screens (they are the same).
I am 5'11' and find it just fine at 75mph (done up to 100mph), as long there is isn't a cross wind or you are coming up behind a truck or RV, tend to get blow around a bit. I have found it that I get draught in it that blows across my face from right to left and hits me at the top of my eye socket, yes I know that is oddly precise, it is just on cold days I really notice it. I think at speed it is more comfortable that a XD-3 - I tried one of those and felt a lot of downforce over 90-100 mph. I imagine doing a long day it would be quite uncomfortable. Edit: BTW the peak on the DS is next to useless and I find the first opening click on the visor is to much, it impedes your vision.

Works fine. I've ridden my 990 with the stock screen wearing both the Arai XD and the Shoei DS. Like the Shoei more. The visor doesn't seem to rattle around as much which put up a really weird harmonic in my head. Felt like my brains were being scrambled. The Shoei has a stiffer, shorter visor but still gets the job done.
