More of an MT250 then an Elsinore, same idea but with half the HP and a bunch more weight and cheap parts compared a dirt model, cool sled to fix up anyway.

Excellent! Looks just like my '74. Took me a year to get mine running good. This is my first
two smoke so it was a steep learning curve. Did 30 miles of trails last weekend and I'm going to go do some laps on the ice tomorrow. Good luck on the resto. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. Jr.

I work outside so I have the gear to keep warm. As long as you're working it through the woods you stay warm anyways. I'd post a pic but I'm pic illiterate, but if you take the pad off your bars and put a trailer light on the back fender that's what mine looks like. Same rust on the tank and everything. Did 23 miles on the ice course yesterday, only low sided three times
It's a workout but I love riding vintage. If you need parts, help, questions let me know, I'd be happy to help save another one. Jr.

I had one of those in about 1977. Rode the thing everywhere. If I recall, head barrel piston etc were all interchangeable with the cr250 of the same years. You could mix n match parts to get quite a bit more performance.
