Park our rig near Tecate crossing - Feb?

Hey all, we're looking for suggestions re: a place to park our car & bike trailer for about 3 weeks in February while we explore Baja.

The plan is to cross at Tecate in the first week of Feb and return before the end of the month. Can anyone suggest a secure place to park within 50mi or so of the crossing?

mike, there are a few public parking lots right before crossing the border.

this one is right before the gate. the last lot on your right. many of the guys parked there last week, and haven't heard any issue.

not sure if it's $5/day.

have fun in baja.

It's really not that far from SD - maybe 20 mins or something - maybe find a friendly down there?

I've recommended this before and a bud didn't have any issues. I live in the Gaslamp area of San Diego. A buddy of mine left town for 2 weeks and needed a place to park his car. I have a friend who lives on Brant Street and used to work on my bikes in his driveway and on the sidewalk. Anyhow, my bud parked his car on Brant street for 2 weeks without any issues. No street cleaning signs, parking permits, etc. Check it out.

Thanks to all for the responses. A friend of a friend got wind of our plans and offerd space at this house, so we're good to go, tomorrow!
