Most of the day Friday I was either in my trailer to stay dry or warm. I was there Thursday, Friday, and left Saturday around 5:15 pm. I had my buddy with me, a little tan and white Jack Russell terrier

Look out for snakes

Went for the grab by memory, flipped the wrong rock, and found a snake hope he does not get the rat.
I will try again next time with a bigger stick.

Woah. I'd say the rat would definitely appreciate it if the snake was taken out...especially if its a rat snake. Uh oh...future mascot idea.

Since I was in Roanoke today to get a new tire for the Tiger, I rode out Blackhorse Gap Rd. and grabbed the rat. Didn't see any snakes though.

Near where Craig's Creek flows into the James River along a 2 digit road that equals 7. there are 3 old iron furnaces. I parked at the middle one.

The rat is hiding in a hole in the rock wall under a rock.

I hate snakes and did not want to go back to Blackhorse Gap flipping rocks. All though years ago I did hike down to where the old tavern was , but I sarted at the top
Now if I can sneak in another ride.

I'm sure there aren't any snakes at the new tag site.

Those look cool. I might have to check those out this weekend, and get bruced at the same time!

Grab. Too close to work to resist. Right off 220, cross the bridge, then right on 43.

I'm still going to have to check out those furnaces. It's incredible what people used to do without the tech we have now. I'd love to live in those days, as long as I could still have the 250L and Becks or equal.

Oops I thought he picked it up in the am. Looks like he has some time yet. Get ready to see the rat go deep into the dark misty woods after I get it folks :-)
