Why Motorcycle History & Presavation?

Although we consider ourselves "motorcyclists" first, we are also "historians" and as such our hobby includes research and the preservation of motorcycle history. What we are doing in the research and presavation of iconic bikes is, I believe an important part of its history and value.

Here here.

A good argument for why it is so important that I spend every penny I earn on motorbikes. All in the name of history and preservation of course

I also consider myself a caretaker. We can't take material things with us when we go, but we can take care of them in the meanwhile...

My bikes are 20 and 30 years old, few parts problems and being an Airhead member repairs and maintance is never a problem.

Fast Forward 20 years, God willin my Airheads and me will still be on the road and the new 2013 Whiz Bang Bike will be waiting for some computer part that is never comming.

It's not history it's survival of the fittest.

Darn...hope you get it sorted out it's been a while. My friend was just looking at that but shipping from Canada to NZ, was much easier/cheaper/faster than we tought at first but not going to happen I could have sent some goodies to Wanaka at the same time.

How is the BMW running? I am more interested these days in the "preservation product report" as I have to go show my friend that it may come in handy on an older Triumph he is restoring but still, we'd like to know about the mechanical parts over there.

Got to go back over there anyway, sold my bean can but have to recuperate your links, pics etc.... and pass them on to the new owner.
