Day rides for southern NV and CA

I'm traveling from Denver to San Diego this weekend for a family vacation. My wife and her father are flying to San Diego and I'm in charge of driving a vehicle and bringing along the dogs. So, why not throw the motor bike on the back and leave two days early. I'm looking for some fun excursion while I'm passing from freezing cold weather into warmer southern weather. Any suggestions for several hour long layovers while en route for San Diego this weekend? Las Vegas area or SoCal? Thanks for your help. George

How about Anza Borrego? You can camp there or hotel it in Borrego Springs.

There's all sorts of riding out here, you just need to watch the weather and elevation. It's only getting into the upper 50's or low 60's here in Las Vegas, so between here and So Cal it might be a bit cool at elevation and expect lows in the 30's after dark.

Baja is only 10 miles from San Diego. Also glamis sand dunes is only 2 hours away.
