. Those have held their value very well and were out of my budget I've been hoping to stumble upon one for parts. ![]() I'm sure if you did desirable improvements you would increase the value, not decrease it.

One of the really cool things about 928s is that they came in all sorts of whacky "one off" colors. Being Porsches top of the line car meant you could get it in nearly any color. Not just some boring "Gaurds Red" like every other Porsche
![]() While I don't think I would have sought out a "yellow" car myself, I certainly would have bought it it the deal was there. Just so unique in so many ways I kinda laugh when I see silver, black and red 928s, kinda feel like they missed a huge part of what made the car so special in its day, and now

Stock in '01, as well.
'00 came with 15" steel wheels, '01 came with 16" alloys, in the 5-spoke pattern shown in this thread. Interestingly...the marketing material/brochures for the '01 talked about the wheels and the all-season tires. The vans actually were delivered in the US with Summer tires, from Dunlop. About 3mo after I took delivery of mine (July '01), I got a memo from VW USA that said, "Oops. Tell you what..." Offer was 4 steel wheels, in 15" size, with all season tires. For $150. Total. Needless to say, I snapped that right up, and have had a second set of wheels/tires, ever since. |

Love the shot of the garage full of seats. Damn, I'd love those leather fronts...
I've had my '01 GLS for 11+ years, and every year, I wonder what I'll replace it with...and come to the conclusion that there's nothing on the market that I'd want more than what I have now. Once my kids are off to college (my youngest is 9yo), or maybe sooner, I'll likely do some interior re-arranging. Would be nice to have some sort of quick-removal scheme for the rear bench. I can easily fit my bikes inside, but removing and re-installing the bench is a chore I don't relish. |

I sorta wish the seats were in the garage instead of my walk out basement. certainly be easier to move them. The "Weekender rear seat can be made to fit pretty easily as you can see above. Not a only does it fold flat into a bed it also mounts into two slide tracks so that it just slides out Still a heavy seat but MUCH easier than unbolting the GLS seat ![]() I've seen a few GLS being parted out. If I stumble on another one with wheels I will post it here or send a pm.

When I bought mine, it came with a "Lifetime Oil & Filter Changes" certificate from the dealer. Every single time I take it in for service, somebody from the sales crew comes looking for me, telling me they get calls regularly, asking about used EuroVans, wondering if I'd like to trade mine in on something new. I just smile and say, "No, thanks." |
