Eastern Oregon Tour V3.0
The flag is hereby planted; the invitation posted:
May 15 thru 19, 2013 (5 days, 4 nights) touring the Oregon Outback. Contemplating a clockwise tour this year with overnight stays in the Blue Mountains, Leslie Gulch, Willow Creek (Whitehorse) Hot Springs, and Hart Mountain Hot Springs. Explorations of other hot springs and points of interest a distinct probability. No marathons -- gonna keep daily mileage down to 200-300 or thereabouts. Figure about 1200 miles altogether. Mostly pavement but expect some gravel as well. And I promise to keep it under 75. Most of the time. Details to follow as they develop...

If I don't ride the Mt. Scott Spring Dualsport event, I'd be up for it. I'll check back as the date gets a bit closer.

Hey guys. I am making making plans to visit the PNW. I was looking at your tour and thought how great I could get locals to show me around. Unfortunately I am not coming that way till later in the summer. Can someone send me a couple GPX files with some good riding areas.
Any must see locations. We are in the planning phase and are looking anything from Washington to north CA and maybe up to Canada. Thanks. |

Have fun in our backyard.
You will want to cruise up to Owyhee Dam while you are on your way to Leslie Gulch. I don't know what you guys are riding, but there is a level 2, (3-4 if it is muddy), ride from the end of the road at the damn up over the mountain and down to Leslie Gulch. I have done it on a 990 KTM in the wet (thunderstorm) and a GSA when it was dry.

Hmm - I still haven't made it out to Eastern Oregon on 2 wheels.
I know things can get pretty remote out there. What kind of fuel range is needed for this?
