I have to double check your route and see where the best spot to meet will be.

And I can't even remember what it was...

My daughter was working for a PR firm that was doing work for MountainHouse and they gave her some samples. Whatever it was didn't make me sick, but that's about all I can say for it.

See http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2209672 for a possible route for this year's tour.

Starts and ends in Springfield, covers about 1300 miles and hits the following highlights:
  • Painted Hils
  • Sumpter Gold Dredge
  • Succor Creek and Leslie Gulch
  • Silver City, Id. (why not?)
  • Cliffs/Pillars of Rome
  • Pete French Round Barn
The last one depends on availability of fuel in Frenchglen -- any news on that from anyone?

We can also swing by at least three of those airports, Rideabout. And don't forget the hot springs, including one near the bottom of Leslie Gulch. It's about four miles upstream, is usally accessible only by boat, but if the resevoir is low enough to ride along the shore...

I've tried to build in some variety and some stretches of gravel each day.
As usual, all this is not set in stone -- just one set of options. Other ideas?
Did you get a response on gas availability in Frenchglen?
Last time i was there, about two years ago, gas was available with two caveats:
1. You had to get it before the convenience/general store closes, which is about 4pm
2. They only took cash.
C. Don't expect high octane gas.
D. It is semi-do-it-yourself. You go inside, get an authorization from the lady behind the counter, go back outside, fill it up, then bring your "number" back to her for payment. Did I say it was cash only?

Anyway, I don't know if this has changed since two years ago.

Fields, down about 50 miles from Frenchglen has also fuel, I believe they work on the same hours (close at about 4/5pm), but accept credit cards.

You can go further south and get fuel in Denio (from Fields), or go north (from Frenchglen) and get fuel in Burns.

T - Did you see the part where the dates changed to 16 - 19 (Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun)?

Sounds like a good ride for that Tiger!

Thanks for the info, which is consistent with what others have said. We'll be bypassing Frenchglen now that we've cut back to four days, so it's not an issue. But thanks anyway!

BTW, love your numbering system...

Ah so; first part then- I'll have to go check Felix's map and eye tin err airy to see if it's doable. Or maybe burn a vacation day and start out with the gang for the kick off ride.
